Classes for Homeschoolers

Although we will list below some of the classes regularly held in Guilford County, we encourage you to become an active member of GHE or participate in some home school group and to join with families you meet through those groups in creating your own classes and home school co-ops.

Classical Conversations is a national home school co-op that has several groups in Guilford County. You can locate and contact them by going to their website and following the links for“CC Communities” to Guilford County. http://www.classicalconversations.com/

EMMA is a co-op started locally. “Our classes are designed to be helpful and convenient to homeschool families at a very reasonable price. We desire that the classes be an affordable, good quality resource that enhances each family’s homeschool program. We recognize the parents as being solely responsible for overseeing their children’s education. On Fridays we offer Elementary, Middle School, and High School enrichment classes. On Tuesdays we offer only Middle School and High School enrichment classes. Most classes are one hour, but some Middle School and High School classes meet 1½ hours or more, and some classes meet twice a week – both Tuesdays and Fridays.” You may contact them at: resourceclasses@yahoo.com

Master’s Academy of Fine Art is a national co-op with a group in this area. You may locate and contact them by going to their website and following the links for “Locations.” http://www.mafa.net/

Dual Enrollment at Guilford Technical Community College: (or other community colleges in North Carolina). If you are still in high school, but at least 16 years old, you can enroll as a dual or concurrently enrolled student. You may find an application to the program here.
